Bang Chan

Bang Chan, born Christopher Bahng, is an Australian-Korean musician, songwriter, and producer best known as the leader of the globally successful K-pop group Stray Kids. Born in Sydney, Australia, he moved to South Korea as a trainee under JYP Entertainment at the age of 13. After years of rigorous training, he formed the production unit 3RACHA with fellow members Han and Changbin, which became the creative backbone of Stray Kids.

Stray Kids debuted in March 2018 following a reality show of the same name on Mnet. What set the group apart from the beginning was their self-produced music, with Bang Chan serving as the primary producer and songwriter. The group steadily built a massive global fanbase known as STAY, and their commercial breakthrough accelerated with albums like “NOEASY” (2021) and “MAXIDENT” (2022), both of which topped charts worldwide. By 2023, Stray Kids had become one of the best-selling K-pop acts globally, with multiple albums debuting at number one on the Billboard 200.

Bang Chan’s role as a producer has been central to both the group’s artistic identity and his personal wealth. He has writing and production credits on the vast majority of Stray Kids’ discography, earning substantial royalties from their album sales, which have surpassed tens of millions of copies. The group’s massive stadium tours across North America, Europe, and Asia have generated hundreds of millions in ticket revenue, further boosting his earnings.

Beyond Stray Kids, Bang Chan is known for his weekly live broadcast “Chan’s Room” on the Bubble platform, where he connects directly with fans. His bilingual abilities in English and Korean have made him a key figure in K-pop’s global expansion. He has also been involved in producing tracks for other artists and has secured individual brand endorsement deals, adding to his diversified income streams.
