Gerard Way, born on April 9, 1977, in Summit, New Jersey, is an American singer, songwriter, and comic book writer best known as the co-founder and lead vocalist of the rock band My Chemical Romance. Way grew up in Belleville, New Jersey, alongside his brother Mikey Way, who would later become the band’s bassist.
