Wyclef Jean

Wyclef Jean is a Haitian-American musician, rapper, producer, and activist who became one of the most influential figures in hip-hop and world music through his work with the Fugees and his prolific solo career. Born on October 17, 1969, in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, Jean immigrated to the United States with his family at age nine, settling in the Marlboro Housing Projects in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to East Orange, New Jersey.

Jean rose to international fame as a founding member of the Fugees alongside Lauryn Hill and Prazrel “Pras” Michel. The group’s 1996 album “The Score” became one of the best-selling hip-hop albums of all time, selling over 22 million copies worldwide.
