Tyler Joseph is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer best known as the frontman of the musical duo Twenty One Pilots alongside drummer Josh Dun. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Joseph grew up playing basketball and initially considered pursuing it professionally before turning to music. He formed Twenty One Pilots in 2009 with college friends, though the lineup eventually settled into the duo format with Josh Dun in 2011.

Twenty One Pilots signed with Fueled by Ramen in 2012 and released their major label debut Vessel in 2013, which included hits like Holding on to You and Car Radio.
