Romeo Santos is widely recognized as the King of Bachata and is credited with bringing the Dominican musical genre to the global mainstream. Born Anthony Santos on July 21, 1981, in The Bronx, New York, to a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother, he grew up immersed in Latin music and culture. He co-founded the bachata group Aventura in 1994 with his cousin Henry Santos and friends Lenny Santos and Max Santos, and the group quickly became pioneers of a modernized bachata sound that blended traditional rhythms with R&B, hip-hop, and pop elements.

He made history by selling out two consecutive nights at Yankee Stadium in 2014, drawing over 100,000 fans, a feat that showcased his extraordinary drawing power as a live performer. He also sold out MetLife Stadium in 2019, becoming the first Latin artist to headline the venue. His acting career includes a role in the film “Furious 7” alongside Vin Diesel.
