William Ray Norwood Jr., known professionally as Ray J, is an American singer, songwriter, television personality, actor, and entrepreneur who has built a multifaceted career spanning over three decades. Born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Carson, California, Ray J comes from a musically gifted family. His sister is Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Brandy Norwood, and his cousin is rapper Snoop Dogg. He began performing at a young age, landing his first television role on “The Sinbad Show” at age 14 before transitioning into music.
