Patrick Dempsey

Patrick Dempsey is an American actor and race car driver who became a global television icon through his portrayal of Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd on ABC’s long-running medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” Born on January 13, 1966, in Lewiston, Maine, Dempsey was raised in the small town of Buckfield. He was diagnosed with dyslexia as a child and found solace in juggling and performing, eventually competing in juggling championships before turning to acting as a teenager.

Dempsey began his career in the 1980s with roles in teen films such as “Can’t Buy Me Love” (1987) and “Loverboy” (1989).
