Nate Bargatze

Nate Bargatze is one of the most successful stand-up comedians of his generation, known for his clean, observational humor and understated delivery style. Born and raised in Old Hickory, Tennessee, he grew up around comedy thanks to his father Stephen Bargatze, a former clown and magician who performed under the name Amazing Stephen. Nate moved to Chicago after high school to study at a community college and began performing stand-up comedy in the city’s vibrant comedy scene.

After honing his craft in Chicago, Bargatze relocated to New York City, where he became a regular at top comedy clubs and caught the attention of industry insiders. He was named the New York Comedy Festival’s Breakout Artist in 2012, and his career trajectory accelerated from there. He made multiple appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and released his first comedy special, Full Time Magic, on Comedy Central in 2015.

Bargatze’s partnership with Netflix proved to be a game-changer for his career. His specials The Tennessee Kid (2019), The Greatest Average American (2021), and Hello World (2023) were all massive hits on the platform. Hello World, in particular, was filmed at a sold-out Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and became one of the most-watched comedy specials on Netflix that year. His ability to pack arenas across the country established him as one of the top touring acts in comedy.

In addition to stand-up, Bargatze hosts the popular podcast Nateland, where he and his friends discuss lighthearted topics. He also made his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live in October 2023, receiving widespread praise. His wholesome, family-friendly brand of comedy has earned him a devoted fanbase that spans all demographics.
