Dominique Armani Jones, known professionally as Lil Baby, was born on December 3, 1994, in Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up in the Oakland City neighborhood on the south side of Atlanta, he faced numerous challenges including run-ins with the law that led to multiple stints in jail. It was during a two-year prison sentence that he began to seriously consider a career in music, encouraged by fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug, who recognized his potential. After his release in 2017, Lil Baby dedicated himself fully to music.
