Joel Embiid is a Cameroonian-American professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association, recognized as one of the most dominant centers of his generation. Born on March 16, 1994, in Yaounde, Cameroon, Embiid did not start playing basketball until he was 15 years old, initially aspiring to be a volleyball player.
