Hannah Hart

Hannah Hart is an American YouTuber, comedian, author, and television personality who rose to fame with her popular YouTube series “My Drunk Kitchen,” which debuted in 2011. Born in San Francisco, California, Hart grew up in a challenging family environment and has been open about her experiences with poverty, her mother’s mental illness, and growing up in the Jehovah’s Witness faith before leaving the religion. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied Japanese language and literature, and later moved to New York City before her YouTube career took off.

My Drunk Kitchen, in which Hart humorously attempts to cook while drinking wine, became a viral sensation shortly after its debut. The series showcased her natural comedic timing and relatable personality, quickly amassing millions of subscribers and views. Hart became part of the original wave of YouTube stars alongside friends Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart (no relation), collectively known as the “Holy Trinity” of YouTube. Her success on the platform led to opportunities in traditional media, including hosting the Food Network show “I Hart Food” and appearing in various television and film projects.

Hart has authored two books: “My Drunk Kitchen: A Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Going with Your Gut” (2014) and “Buffering: Unshared Tales of a Life Fully Loaded” (2016), a memoir that became a New York Times bestseller. She has been an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, food insecurity awareness, and mental health. In 2018, she launched the Have a Hart Day initiative to combat food insecurity, partnering with food banks across the country. Hart married fellow content creator Ella Mielniczenko in 2020. Though the peak of her YouTube career has passed, she continues to create content, pursue acting and hosting opportunities, and use her platform for advocacy work.
