He practiced psychology and co-founded Courtroom Sciences Inc., a litigation consulting firm, before his television career began. His life changed when Oprah Winfrey hired his firm during the Amarillo Texas beef trial in 1998, leading to regular appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
