Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton is an American actress, director, and cultural icon whose career has spanned more than five decades. Born Diane Hall in Los Angeles, California, she adopted her mother’s maiden name Keaton when she joined the Actors’ Equity Association. She studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City and made her Broadway debut in the musical “Hair” (1968) before catching the attention of Woody Allen, who would become her most important creative collaborator.

Keaton’s partnership with Woody Allen produced some of the most beloved films in American cinema history. She starred in “Play It Again, Sam” (1972), “Sleeper” (1973), “Love and Death” (1975), and most famously “Annie Hall” (1977), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
