Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, known professionally as DaBaby, was born on December 22, 1991, in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He began his music career in 2015 under the name Baby Jesus before rebranding as DaBaby. He released several mixtapes independently, including “Nonfiction” (2015), “God’s Work” (2016), and “Baby Talk” series, which built him a strong regional following in the Carolinas before catching national attention.

DaBaby’s breakthrough came in 2019 with his debut studio album “Baby on Baby,” which peaked at number seven on the Billboard 200 and featured the hit single “Suge.” That same year, he released his second album “Kirk,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
