Jillian Rose Banks, known professionally as BANKS, was born on June 16, 1988, in Orange County, California. Raised in a single-parent household after her parents divorced when she was young, she turned to songwriting as an emotional outlet during her teenage years. She studied psychology at the University of Southern California before fully committing to a music career. Her early demos uploaded to SoundCloud in 2013 quickly caught the attention of music blogs and industry professionals.

BANKS’ debut EP “Fall Over” (2013) and the single “Waiting Game” generated significant buzz in the indie music world.
