Armin van Buuren

Armin van Buuren is one of the most successful and influential DJs in the history of electronic dance music. Born on Christmas Day 1976 in Leiden, Netherlands, he discovered his passion for electronic music in his teenage years. He began producing tracks in the mid-1990s while simultaneously pursuing a law degree at Leiden University, which he completed in 2003. His dedication to both academia and music demonstrated the discipline that would define his career.

Van Buuren’s weekly radio show “A State of Trance” (ASOT), which launched in 2001, became the gold standard for trance music broadcasting. The show reaches an estimated 40 million listeners in over 80 countries each week and has celebrated over 1,000 episodes. He was voted the number one DJ in the world by DJ Mag a record five times, in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012, and has consistently remained in the top rankings for over two decades.

His discography includes critically acclaimed albums such as “76” (2003), “Shivers” (2005), “Mirage” (2010), “Intense” (2013), “Embrace” (2015), “Balance” (2019), and “Feel Again” (2023). He runs the Armada Music label, which he co-founded in 2003 and which has grown into one of the largest independent dance music labels in the world.
