Alexander James O’Connor, known professionally as Rex Orange County, is a British singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has become one of the defining artists of the bedroom pop movement. Born on May 12, 1998, in Grayshott, Hampshire, England, he grew up in a musical family and began writing songs in his early teens. He attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in London, the same institution that produced Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Jessie J.

Rex Orange County first gained widespread attention in 2017 when Tyler, the Creator featured him prominently on the album “Flower Boy,” including the standout tracks “Foreword” and “Boredom.” This collaboration introduced him to a massive audience and led to the success of his own debut album “Apricot Princess” (2017), a critically acclaimed project that blended indie pop, jazz, and bedroom pop.
