Luke Hemmings

Luke Robert Hemmings is an Australian singer, songwriter, and guitarist best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS), one of the most successful pop-rock bands to emerge in the 2010s. Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Hemmings began posting cover videos on YouTube in 2011 at the age of 15. He soon joined forces with bandmates Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin to form 5 Seconds of Summer, which rapidly gained a massive online following.

The band’s career skyrocketed when they were invited to open for One Direction on their 2013 world tour. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2014 and debuted at number one in eleven countries, including the United States and Australia. 5SOS became the first Australian act to have their debut album enter the Billboard 200 at number one. The band has since released multiple successful albums including “Sounds Good Feels Good” (2015), “Youngblood” (2018), and “5SOS5” (2022), selling over 10 million albums worldwide.
