Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, is an American singer, model, actress, and dancer who first captured public attention in 2006 with her self-titled debut single “Me & U.” Born in New London, Connecticut, to a Filipino father and an African American-Mexican mother, Cassie began pursuing performing arts at a young age. She attended the Williams School, a prestigious preparatory school in New London, before moving to New York City to study at the Broadway Dance Center and subsequently enrolling at Pace University, where she was discovered by producer Ryan Leslie.

Cassie’s debut single “Me & U” became a massive hit in 2006, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and establishing her as a fresh voice in R&B.
