Matthew Paige Damon was born on October 8, 1970, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He grew up alongside his childhood friend Ben Affleck, with whom he would later form one of Hollywood’s most enduring creative partnerships. Damon attended Harvard University, where he began writing the screenplay that would eventually become Good Will Hunting.
