Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury, known as ‘The Gypsy King,’ is one of the most colorful and accomplished heavyweight boxers of the modern era. Born on August 12, 1988, in Wythenshawe, Manchester, England, to a family of Irish Traveller heritage, Fury was named after Mike Tyson by his father John Fury, himself a former professional boxer. Standing at 6 feet 9 inches, Fury possesses an unusually large frame for a boxer, yet moves with a fluidity and technical skill that belies his massive size.

Fury’s professional career began in 2008, and he quickly rose through the heavyweight ranks with his unorthodox style and entertaining personality. His career-defining moment came in November 2015 when he traveled to Dusseldorf, Germany, and defeated Wladimir Klitschko by unanimous decision to become the unified WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion.
