Oscar Isaac

Oscar Isaac is a Guatemalan-American actor and musician who has become one of the most respected performers of his generation. Born Óscar Isaac Hernández Estrada in Guatemala City, he moved to Miami as an infant and later studied at the Juilliard School.

Isaac’s breakthrough came with the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), where he played a struggling folk singer in 1960s Greenwich Village. This led to major blockbuster roles including Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse.

His critically acclaimed work includes Ex Machina (2014), A Most Violent Year (2014), and the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero (2015), which earned him a Golden Globe Award. He starred as Duke Leto Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune (2021) and its sequel. His performance as Marc Spector/Moon Knight in Marvel’s Moon Knight (2022) showcased his extraordinary range.

In 2026, Isaac joins the ensemble cast of Beef Season 2 on Netflix, continuing his streak of choosing bold, character-driven projects.
