Mike Sorrentino, widely known as “The Situation,” is an American television personality who gained fame as one of the original cast members of MTV’s Jersey Shore. Born on July 4, 1982, in Staten Island, New York, and raised in Manalapan Township, New Jersey, Sorrentino is of Italian descent and grew up in a large family. Before his television career, he worked as a fitness model and assistant gym manager, cultivating the physique and persona that would make him a reality television icon.

Sorrentino became one of the breakout stars of Jersey Shore when it premiered in 2009, earning his nickname “The Situation” from his habit of referring to his abs.
