Latto, born Alyssa Michelle Stephens, is an American rapper from Columbus, Ohio, who was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She first gained public attention at just 16 years old when she won the first season of Lifetime’s reality competition series “The Rap Game” in 2016, hosted by Jermaine Dupri. Initially performing under the stage name Miss Mulatto, she later shortened her name to Mulatto before ultimately rebranding as Latto in 2021 to avoid any perceived racial connotations.
