Hannah Einbinder

Hannah Einbinder is an American actress and stand-up comedian who rose to prominence through her starring role as Ava Daniels in the HBO comedy series Hacks. Born in Los Angeles, California, Einbinder comes from a comedy family — her mother is Laraine Newman, an original cast member of Saturday Night Live and a member of the legendary comedy troupe The Groundlings. Despite this pedigree, Einbinder forged her own path in comedy, developing a sharp, observational style.

Einbinder began performing stand-up comedy while studying at the University of Pennsylvania. After moving back to Los Angeles, she quickly made a name for herself on the comedy circuit and in 2020 became the youngest female comedian to perform on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Her stand-up work demonstrated the quick wit and fearless delivery that would soon define her on-screen persona.
