Halsey, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, is an American singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur who has become one of the defining pop artists of her generation. Born in Washington, New Jersey, Halsey grew up in a working-class family and attended multiple high schools due to frequent moves. She began posting music on social media platforms and gained initial attention through her song “Ghost” on SoundCloud in 2014, which led to a record deal with Astralwerks.

Her debut album, “Badlands” (2015), was a critical and commercial success, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 and featuring the hit single “New Americana.” Halsey quickly became known for her distinctive voice, genre-blending style, and confessional songwriting.
