Ali Wong

Ali Wong is an American comedian, actress, and writer who has become one of the most successful stand-up comedians of her generation. Born in San Francisco to a Vietnamese mother and Chinese-American father, she began performing stand-up while attending UCLA.

Wong’s Netflix specials “Baby Cobra” (2016) and “Hard Knock Wife” (2018), both filmed while she was visibly pregnant, became cultural phenomena for their raw, unfiltered takes on motherhood, marriage, and sexuality. She followed with “Don Wong” (2022) and her hit series “Beef” (2023).

Her starring role in Netflix’s “Beef” opposite Steven Yeun earned her critical acclaim and awards recognition. She’s also voiced characters in “Big Mouth” and “Tuca & Bertie,” and wrote the film “Always Be My Maybe” (2019). Wong has become a trailblazer for Asian-American representation in comedy.
