Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential hip-hop artists of all time. Rising from a troubled childhood in Detroit, Michigan, Eminem burst onto the mainstream music scene with his 1999 album 'The Slim Shady LP,' which won a Grammy Award. His subsequent albums 'The Marshall Mathers LP' and 'The Eminem Show' became two of the best-selling albums in hip-hop history. Known for his complex rhyme schemes, controversial lyrics, and alter egos Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers, he has sold over 220 million records worldwide. He founded Shady Records, starred in the semi-autobiographical film '8 Mile,' and won an Academy Award for 'Lose Yourself.' He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
