Lucy Lawless

Lucy Lawless became an international icon through her portrayal of the warrior princess in the groundbreaking television series Xena: Warrior Princess, which aired from 1995 to 2001. Born in Mount Albert, Auckland, New Zealand, Lawless grew up as one of six children and studied acting at the William Davis Centre for Actors Study in Vancouver. Before Xena, she appeared in various New Zealand television productions and had a small role in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which led to her being cast in the spin-off series.
