Enya

Enya is one of the best-selling Irish solo artists of all time, with estimated sales of over 80 million records worldwide. Born in Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland, she grew up in a musical family and briefly performed with the Celtic group Clannad, which included several of her siblings. She left the group in 1982 to pursue a solo career alongside producer Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan, a partnership that would define her unique sound for decades.

Her breakthrough came with the 1988 album “Watermark,” which featured the global hit “Orinoco Flow (Sail Away).” The song reached number one in multiple countries and established Enya as an international star. Enya has won four Grammy Awards and has been nominated for an Academy Award for her contribution to the “Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” soundtrack with the song “May It Be.” Her distinctive layered vocal style, blending new age, Celtic, and classical influences, has made her one of the most recognizable voices in music. Despite her enormous commercial success, she is famously private and rarely performs live or gives interviews.

She has sold properties worth millions and is known to reside in a Victorian castle called Manderley Castle (formerly Victoria Castle) in Killiney, Dublin, which she purchased and extensively renovated.
