Kristin Davis is an American actress best known for her iconic role as Charlotte York Goldenblatt in HBO’s Sex and the City franchise. Born on February 22, 1965, in Boulder, Colorado, Davis was adopted as an infant and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. She developed a love for acting at a young age and went on to study drama at Rutgers University, graduating with a BFA in acting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts.

After graduating, Davis moved to New York City and began her career in theater and television. She had recurring roles on soap operas including General Hospital and Melrose Place in the early 1990s. Her career-defining role came in 1998 when she was cast as Charlotte York in Sex and the City. The show ran for six seasons (1998-2004) and became a cultural phenomenon, redefining how women’s stories were told on television. Davis’s portrayal of the optimistic, traditional Charlotte became beloved by fans worldwide.

The success of Sex and the City led to two feature films in 2008 and 2010, both of which were commercial successes.
