Kate McKinnon

Kate McKinnon is an American actress and comedian who became one of the most celebrated cast members in the history of Saturday Night Live. Born Kathryn McKinnon Berthold on January 6, 1984, in Sea Cliff, New York, she grew up on Long Island and studied theatre at Columbia University, where she performed with the Prangstgroop comedy troupe. She began her career performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and on the Logo TV series “The Big Gay Sketch Show” (2007-2010).

McKinnon joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2012 and quickly became the show’s breakout star. Her impressions were legendary, including her portrayals of Hillary Clinton, Jeff Sessions, Kellyanne Conway, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Ellen DeGeneres, among dozens of others. She won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on SNL in 2016 and 2017, making her one of the most decorated performers in the show’s history.
