Jordan Peele

Jordan Peele is an American filmmaker, actor, and comedian who has redefined the horror genre through a unique lens of social commentary. Born on February 21, 1979, in New York City, Peele was raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan by his white mother, Lucinda Williams, after his Black father, Hayward Peele Jr., left the family. He attended Sarah Lawrence College and the Computer School before pursuing a career in comedy.

Peele first gained widespread recognition as one half of the comedy duo Key and Peele, alongside Keegan-Michael Key. Their Comedy Central sketch show, Key and Peele, ran from 2012 to 2015 and became a cultural phenomenon, with sketches regularly going viral and accumulating billions of views online. The show earned a Peabody Award and multiple Emmy nominations, with Peele winning an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.
