Tauheed Epps, known professionally as 2 Chainz, is an American rapper and entrepreneur who rose to fame as one half of the hip-hop duo Playaz Circle before launching a hugely successful solo career. Born and raised in College Park, Georgia, he attended Alabama State University on a basketball scholarship before dedicating himself fully to music. His early career saw moderate success with Playaz Circle, who were signed to Ludacris’s Disturbing tha Peace label and scored a hit with “Duffle Bag Boy” in 2007.

2 Chainz’s solo breakthrough came with the release of his debut studio album “Based on a T.R.U. Story” in 2012, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold. The album featured hit singles “No Lie” featuring Drake and “Birthday Song” featuring Kanye West. He followed up with “B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time” in 2013, which also debuted at number one.
