Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, known professionally as Tory Lanez, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer who rose to fame through a prolific mixtape run before achieving mainstream success. Born on July 27, 1992, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, he spent parts of his childhood in Montreal and later moved to the United States as a teenager.
