Big Sean is a critically acclaimed rapper and songwriter who rose from the Detroit hip-hop scene to become one of the most commercially successful artists in modern rap. Born Sean Michael Leonard Anderson on March 25, 1988, in Santa Monica, California, he was raised in Detroit, Michigan, where he developed his passion for rap. His big break came at age 16 when he freestyled for Kanye West at a Detroit radio station, impressing West enough to eventually sign him to his G.O.O.D. Music label in 2007.

Big Sean continued his success with “I Decided.” in 2017, which also debuted at number one and featured the hit “Bounce Back,” and “Detroit 2” in 2020, a love letter to his hometown that again reached the top of the charts. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Eminem, Jay-Z, Drake, and Jhene Aiko, with whom he has had a prominent personal and professional relationship.

Beyond music, Big Sean has invested in real estate and launched the Sean Anderson Foundation, which supports youth education and community development in Detroit. He has also ventured into fashion and endorsement deals.
