Tamar Braxton

Tamar Braxton is the youngest sister of legendary R&B singer Toni Braxton and first entered the music industry as part of the family group The Braxtons in the early 1990s. The group signed with Arista Records and released music before eventually disbanding. While her older sister Toni achieved massive solo success, Tamar spent years working to establish her own identity in the entertainment industry, a journey that would eventually lead her to reality television stardom.

In 2011, Braxton’s career experienced a major resurgence when she and her sisters starred in the WE tv reality series Braxton Family Values. The show became one of the network’s highest-rated programs and ran for multiple seasons, showcasing the family’s dynamics, humor, and musical legacy. Tamar’s outspoken personality made her a fan favorite, leading to her own spinoff series, Tamar and Vince, which followed her relationship with then-husband Vincent Herbert.

Braxton leveraged her reality TV fame to relaunch her music career with considerable success. Her 2013 album Love and War debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, and the title track topped the Billboard R&B charts. She also became a co-host on The Real in 2013, though she departed the show in 2016. In 2019, she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and won the competition, adding another notable achievement to her resume.

Despite facing personal and financial challenges over the years, including a public divorce from Vincent Herbert and various legal disputes, Braxton has remained a prominent figure in entertainment.
