Bruce Hornsby is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter and pianist known for his distinctive blend of pop, jazz, bluegrass, and classical music. He first achieved mainstream success with his band Bruce Hornsby and the Range, whose debut single ‘The Way It Is’ reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986. The song became one of the most recognizable piano-driven pop songs of the 1980s and earned Hornsby the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1987.
