Swae Lee, born Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown on June 7, 1993, in Inglewood, California, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter best known as one half of the hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd alongside his brother Slim Jxmmi. Raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, Swae Lee and his brother began making music together as teenagers, eventually catching the attention of producer Mike WiLL Made-It, who signed them to his EarDrummers Entertainment label. Their debut single “No Flex Zone” in 2014 announced them as a major new force in hip-hop.
