Sam Claflin

Sam Claflin was born on June 27, 1986, in Ipswich, Suffolk, England. He grew up in Norwich, Norfolk, and developed an interest in acting during his school years. He studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), one of the UK’s most prestigious drama schools, graduating with the skills and training that would launch him into a successful film career.

Claflin’s first major role came in 2011 when he was cast as Philip Swift, a missionary, in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. This led to his casting in Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) as William, the prince. However, his most significant early role was as Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games franchise, appearing in Catching Fire (2013), Mockingjay Part 1 (2014), and Mockingjay Part 2 (2015).
