Daniel Caesar, born Ashton Daniel Simmonds on April 5, 1995, in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, is a Grammy-winning R&B singer and songwriter who rose to prominence with his soulful blend of gospel, R&B, and contemporary pop. Raised in a deeply religious household by Jamaican immigrant parents, Caesar grew up singing in church before pursuing secular music as a teenager.
