Jharrel Jerome

Jharrel Jerome is an American actor of Dominican descent who made history as one of the youngest Emmy winners for his powerful performance in When They See Us. Born on October 9, 1997, in the Bronx, New York, Jerome grew up in a close-knit Dominican-American family and developed his interest in acting during his time at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, the famed school that inspired the movie Fame.

Jerome’s career began with his film debut in Barry Jenkins’ Academy Award-winning Moonlight (2016), where he played the teenage version of the character Kevin. The film won the Best Picture Oscar and introduced Jerome to audiences worldwide.
