America Ferrera

America Ferrera is an American actress, director, producer, and activist who has been a trailblazer for Latina representation in Hollywood for over two decades. Born on April 18, 1984, in Los Angeles, California, to Honduran immigrant parents, Ferrera grew up in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of LA. She discovered her love for acting in elementary school and pursued it passionately, landing her breakout film role while still a teenager.

Ferrera’s career breakthrough came with the 2002 independent film Real Women Have Curves, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and earned widespread acclaim. However, it was her starring role as Betty Suarez in the ABC comedy-drama Ugly Betty (2006-2010) that made her a household name.
